Silly Love Song (In Circles)

I’d like to kiss the whole wide world,
for this morning I feel bright;
the dawn has washed the blood I shed,
turned black and white to light.

I’d like to kiss my friends, my cats,
their lovely whiskers,
their teeth of light.

I’d like to be a child again,
to dream the world is bright, not grey,
to once more trust that beauty hides
in poetry along the way.

I’d like to kiss the sky above,
I’d like to kiss the earth below,
and kiss this dream that fools me,
yet fills the world with music’s glow.

This morning I feel bright and free,
and I want to kiss the world I see,
the world of colors
within me,
without me,
so unreal,
so real to be.
