About Marco Di Caprio
Marco Di Caprio (born in Aversa, Italy, on December 1st, 1989) is an Italian writer, educator, independent scholar, and digital marketing specialist. His research and creative work explore the intersections between medieval literature, symbolism, music culture, and psychological experience, with particular attention to the continuity between classical poetic traditions and modern artistic expression.
He studied Humanities at the University of Naples and completed a Master’s degree in Italian Studies at Roma Tre University. Alongside his academic formation, he has taught Italian language and literature in the Italian public-school system and in international educational contexts, experiences that inform his reflection on language, identity, and cultural transmission.
His scholarly interests focus primarily on medieval lyric poetry, especially the Occitan Troubadour tradition, as well as on the dialogue between classical aesthetics and popular music. Within music studies, he has devoted particular attention to the Beatles and their influence on modern songwriting, examining questions of structure, symbolism, emotional perception, and artistic innovation across genres and historical periods.
His major academic work, Chromatism in Troubadour Lyric Poetry. Love, Obscurity, and Soul Refinement (2025), investigates the symbolic functions of light, darkness and color in medieval Occitan lyrics.
Alongside his scholarly and literary activity, Di Caprio has worked since 2020 as a freelance digital marketing and SEO specialist, developing competencies in online communication, content strategy, and digital publishing. This professional dimension complements his research interest in the transmission of culture and knowledge within contemporary media environments.
He is also the author of the novels The Mystery of Easter Island (2008), Horror Vacui (in Italian), and the forthcoming In Circles, which extend his academic concerns into narrative and reflective prose.
Across both criticism and creative writing, his work is unified by an inquiry into how artistic language—poetic, musical, or symbolic—can transform inner experience into forms of meaning, memory, and consciousness.
